Top-up & Redemption Codes
Applies to: Organization (top-level user) Updated: 2026-07-02
In the new CloudRouter console, all funds for API calls come from the organization balance pool. This article explains how an organization tops up the balance pool — supporting both "online top-up" and "redemption code" methods — and covers payment methods, record lookup, and FAQs.
A top-up credits the organization balance pool. For how to make the balance available to subusers (by setting quota limits), see Balance Management & Quota Allocation.
1. Core Concept: Top-ups Go Into the "Organization Balance Pool"
| Concept | Description |
|---|---|
| Top-up subject | The Organization (top-level user) is topped up. Subusers have no independent wallet and cannot see the top-up entry |
| Organization balance pool | The organization's single source of funds. The organization's own calls and subusers' calls are all ultimately deducted from this one pool |
| Two top-up methods | Online top-up (Alipay / WeChat / Stripe) and redemption codes; balances from both go into the same organization balance pool |
| Method | Use case | How it arrives |
|---|---|---|
| Online top-up | Pay online with Alipay, WeChat, or Stripe — buy and use immediately | Credited automatically after successful payment |
| Redemption code | You obtained a redemption code from CloudRouter (event bonus, offline purchase, gift, etc.) | Credited immediately after entering the redemption code |
Top-up terms follow what is actually shown on the console "Purchase" page and "Redemption Code" page. RMB and balance are counted 1:1, billed by actual usage; prices follow what is shown in the "Model Market" or the console "Purchase" page.
2. Prerequisites and Entries
Prerequisites
- You are logged in to the console as an Organization (top-level user)
- Subusers cannot top up; top-up-related entries are invisible to them (the subuser menu is narrowed to only 5 items)
- Online top-up requires the platform to have enabled at least one payment method (Alipay / WeChat / Stripe / Airwallex, etc.; follows what is actually shown on the Purchase page)
- Redemption-code top-up requires you to have obtained a valid "organization balance"–type redemption code
Feature Entries
After the organization logs in, the top-up-related entries in the left navigation bar are:
| Menu item | Purpose | Related doc |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase | Choose a package and pay online to top up the organization balance pool | This article |
| Redemption Code | Enter a redemption code to top up the organization balance pool | This article |
| My Orders | View order history and download payment receipts | Invoices & Receipts |
For entries to view the organization balance and transaction records, and to set quotas for subusers, see Balance Management & Quota Allocation.
3. Method 1: Online Top-up (Purchase)
For instant top-ups via Alipay, WeChat, or Stripe; the balance enters the organization balance pool automatically after successful payment.
Steps
Step 1: Go to the Purchase page
Left navigation bar → Purchase.
Step 2: Choose a package
The Purchase page displays available top-up packages, arranged as cards:
- Click a package card to select it; the selected card is highlighted
- Each card displays: package name, price, corresponding balance, validity period, and limited-time discount (if any)
- If you choose a "custom amount" type, an amount input box appears at the bottom of the page after selection, and you must enter the top-up amount manually
The specific package tiers, prices, and the upper/lower bounds for custom amounts follow what is actually shown on the Purchase page. If the page shows "No packages available for purchase," contact CloudRouter support.
Step 3: Choose a payment method
After selecting a package, the available payment methods are displayed at the bottom of the page:
| Payment method | Description |
|---|---|
| Alipay | Scan the QR code and complete payment with the Alipay app |
| WeChat Pay | Scan the QR code and complete payment with WeChat |
| Stripe | Redirects to a Stripe-hosted page, supporting credit cards and other international payment methods |
An option is only shown if the platform has enabled the corresponding payment method. If the page shows "No payment methods available," contact CloudRouter support.
Step 4: Click "Pay Now"
- Alipay / WeChat Pay: a QR code dialog pops up; scan it with the corresponding app to complete payment within the validity period
- Stripe: a waiting dialog pops up; the Stripe payment page opens in a new window, and you return to CloudRouter after completion
Step 5: Wait for successful payment
After payment is completed, the page automatically detects the payment status and pops up a "Payment Successful" prompt, which displays the current latest organization balance. You can close it and return, or continue with another top-up.
⚠️ Orders and payment QR codes have a timeout mechanism. Orders not paid before timeout automatically expire and can no longer be paid — you need to place a new order, and no double charge occurs. The exact timeout duration follows what the console actually indicates.
Business Rules
- Balance from an online top-up enters the organization balance pool, controlled uniformly by the organization
- The same order is handled idempotently and will not be credited twice
- Order payment statuses include: pending payment, paid, payment failed, timed out, refunded, partially refunded, etc. (follows what is shown on the "My Orders" page)
- Refunds are handled uniformly by the platform; organizations cannot refund on their own. For a refund, contact CloudRouter support and provide the order number
4. Method 2: Redemption Code
For the scenario where you obtained a redemption code from CloudRouter (event reward, offline purchase, gift, etc.), completing a top-up by entering the redemption code.
Steps
Step 1: Go to the Redemption Code page
Left navigation bar → Redemption Code.
Step 2: Enter the redemption code
The Redemption Code page usually contains:
- Organization balance card: shows the current organization balance
- Redemption code input area: redemption code input box + Redeem Now button
- About redemption codes note: redemption codes are provided by CloudRouter, each can be used only once, and the credited amount goes into the organization balance pool, etc.
In the input box, paste or type the complete redemption code, then click Redeem Now.
Step 3: View the redemption result
- Redemption successful: a success prompt pops up, showing this top-up amount and the new balance, and the organization balance card refreshes accordingly
- Redemption failed: a failure prompt pops up, showing the specific reason (see "Common Errors" below)
Field Descriptions
| Field | Required | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| Redemption code | Yes | The complete string issued by the platform, case-sensitive | ABC12345DEF6… (typically 16–32 characters) |
Business Rules
- Each redemption code can be used only once and is voided immediately after successful redemption
- The redemption code type must be organization balance type; personal/other-type redemption codes are not usable at this entry
- After successful redemption, the balance goes directly into the current organization's balance pool, controlled uniformly by the organization
Common Errors
| Error message | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Invalid redemption code | The code does not exist, or the type does not match (e.g., not organization balance type) | Confirm with CloudRouter support that what you obtained is an "organization balance" type redemption code |
| Redemption code already used | The code has been redeemed before | Contact CloudRouter support to confirm or request a new redemption code |
5. Viewing Top-up Records
| What you want to check | Where to look | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Organization balance transactions (top-ups, consumption, quota adjustments, etc.) | Balance Management page | See Balance Management & Quota Allocation |
| Order history (including status, amount, item) | My Orders | Supports filtering by status |
| Download payment receipts (for reimbursement / invoicing) | My Orders → paid order → download receipt | See Invoices & Receipts |
In the balance transactions, online top-up entries and redemption-code entries are distinguished by different type labels, convenient for auditing and reconciliation. For the transaction-type reference, see Balance Management & Quota Allocation.
6. FAQ
Q: The online top-up payment succeeded but the balance hasn't arrived. What should I do?
A: Check in order: ① Refresh the page and check the organization balance again after 1–2 minutes; ② Go to "My Orders" and check whether the order status is "Paid"; ③ If the order stays at "Pending payment" for a long time, the payment callback may be delayed — contact CloudRouter support for help; ④ If the order is "Payment failed" or "Timed out," place a new order.
Q: After clicking "Purchase," it shows "No packages available for purchase."
A: This means no usable top-up packages are configured yet — contact CloudRouter support.
Q: The page shows "No payment methods available."
A: This means no payment method has been enabled yet — contact CloudRouter support.
Q: The redemption code shows "invalid."
A: Common causes: ① the type is not "organization balance"; ② a typo (copy-paste the complete redemption code, mind the case); ③ the redemption code has been deleted. Contact CloudRouter support to confirm.
Q: Can a redemption code be used multiple times?
A: No. Each redemption code can be used only once and is voided immediately after successful redemption.
Q: What if the payment QR code expires?
A: After the QR code expires, click "Pay Now" again to generate a new one. Old, expired, unpaid orders automatically expire and will not cause a double charge.
Q: Can I get a refund after topping up?
A: Refunds are handled uniformly by the platform; organizations cannot refund on their own. For a refund, contact CloudRouter support and provide the order number.
Q: How does a topped-up balance get used by subusers?
A: The organization balance pool is the single source of funds. You don't need to "split" balance to subusers; instead, you set a quota limit (a cap) for each subuser, and what is actually deducted when the subuser consumes is still the organization balance pool. See Balance Management & Quota Allocation.
Q: Can subusers see the top-up entry?
A: No. Purchase, Redemption Code, My Orders, etc. are all organization-exclusive entries; the subuser menu is narrowed to the 5 items: Dashboard, API Keys, Call Guide, Usage Records, Profile.
Notes
- Online top-up and redemption code are two independent methods; balances from both go into the same organization balance pool
- Orders have a timeout mechanism, so complete payment promptly; timed-out orders require a new order and will not cause a double charge
- Successfully topped-up balance is controlled uniformly by the organization; use it reasonably in conjunction with subuser quota planning
- Keep redemption codes safe to avoid leakage and redemption by others
- For large top-ups or financial reconciliation, we recommend downloading receipts from "My Orders" for record-keeping; see Invoices & Receipts
